At Champagne Walkers, we
focus on breeding for the champagne color and look for sound-minded,
people-oriented, well-gaited Tennessee Walking Horses. We want to
produce foals that like people and want to please them, learn quickly,
and can achieve whatever goals their owner sets for them, be it the rail
or the trail.

Champagne Walkers owner,
Maxine Doner says,
"I am not enamored with pedigrees, I want to see what the individual
does, how willing and trainable they are, whether they are thinking or
reactive individuals. I want to go down the trail with a minimum of
fuss, that I can count on them to connect with me to keep both of us
safe in difficult circumstances. I want the ride to be smooth and
comfortable, the speed controllable. Last, I want to see what the horse
produces. Ultimately, I look to the individual, then they have to prove
themselves through temperament, willingness, trainability, smooth gait,
and quality of offspring. I want to breed a horse that doesn't need
anything nailed on to get the gait, that walks barefoot with no
gimmicks." |
